 It is Nithin's birthday today. It's been a normal day and I just logged out of work. Eapen and I are waiting eagerly for the birthday lad to get home from work. As I settle before the screen to make a note of the day, Easwari akka is busy in the kitchen and amidst her hurried cooking, I tell her of the special day. She smiles and asks for cake. "We'll celebrate on Saturday and save your share of cake," I tell her. 

The evening sky isn't dramatic today. Just a pale blue sheet warped with mellow clouds. 

The holiday month starts tomorrow. There is joy, excitement and much warmth in the air.
